Media accreditation form
Instructions for completion of media accreditation Media participation at Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) meetings is subject to accreditation by the CBD Secretariat. Accreditation is strictly reserved for members of the press-print media, photo, radio, TV, film and new agencies who fully meet UN media accreditation requirements. Accreditation will be granted upon presentation of valid press credentials including each of the following:
- Completed form: Request for Media Accreditation
- Letter of assignment on official letterhead of a media organization signed by the Publisher/Assignment Editor, Editor-in-chief or Bureau Chief, specifying the name and functional title of the journalist. Unsigned letters or e-mails will not be accepted
- Photocopy of a valid press card/work pass
- Photocopy of passport/national ID card.

Please note that requests for accreditation submitted to “Perfect Relations” staff in India will be subsequently reviewed by the CBD Secretariat. Note that double accreditation is not allowed (e.g. as press and delegate, or as press and NGO).
Maximum number of accreditations per media organization: Print and online publications, including blogs will be limited to no more than 6 representatives per organization comprising of reporters and photographers. Radio broadcasters will also be limited to 4 representatives per organization. Film and Television organizations will be limited to 8 representatives per organization. In the event that this limit is exceeded, the Secretariat will select the representatives who receive accreditation.
Press passes can be picked up at the registration counter, located at the Hyderabad International Conference Centre as early as 28 September 2012 upon presentation of the two forms of photo ID submitted as part of the accreditation request (passport, official national press pass, national ID, work ID, etc.) or of a photo press pass from the United Nations in New York, Paris, Geneva, Vienna, or Nairobi.
Please note that journalists accredited to cover the meetings should make their own travel and hotel bookings.
