At a Wimmera Home Education Group meeting in November, seven (mostly farming) families with about 20 children shared 'stories' about amazing living things on our farmlands learned by observations.
Stories covered newly born foal behaviour in their first few hours, quail families running in front of headers, bees in the garden, ladybirds and mud-eye skeletons on Scotch Thistle, ladybird eggs in a vegie patch and a tree model showing water, carbon movements in all the plants that are so important to us, be it grains, vegies, or other garden plants.
Event contributed to Aichi Targets for sharing knowledge (19), about domesticated species (13) and alien invaders (9) and raising awareness of biodiversity (1).
