Presentation of Biodiversity official film and lecture on biodiversity conservation challenges in Paraguay by Dr. Fátima Mereles, consultant on biodiversity for Itaipu Binacional (right margin) and member of the National Science and Technology Council (CONACYT). The event is organized jointly by the Environment Secretary (Secretaría del Ambiente) through a biodiversity project called Áreas Silvestres with UNDP, the National Scientific Society and the United Nations Information Center. The presentation will take place during an unprecedented Cartographic Exhibition with historical maps of Paraguay from the Colonial times to the present day to commemorate Paraguay's bicentenary and the UN's 66th anniversary.
