Field Guide Photo Contest
- Our top winning photo is a young baboon by Michael Paredes This image beautifully captures the energetic, playful nature of young individuals of these primates. It has an interesting composition, and is technically perfect.
- Our second winning photo is a lion in a tree by Michael Paredes. This image conveys both the strength of this animal, and the fact that it feels at home in nearly every environment of the Gorongosa ecosystem. The composition is well balanced and technically very good.
- Our third winning photo is elephants behind trees by John Nicol. Despite their size, elephants are cautious animals, and this photograph captures an unease of this small group of females. A closer look reveals that they are protecting a young calf who hides behind the legs of its mother.
