After reading the abstract, I think it will be a good idea to highlight that both the under use and the over use of a territory or land could modify sistematically the biodiversity enhancing or reducing it. I have the experience of different countries where over population pressure on forest causes reduction of biodiversity (i.e. developing countries), but, in others it is the lack of population linked to the territory (land abandonment) causes the same negative effect on biodiversity. This can also be seen with the presence of megahervibories in a forest, both high or very low stocking rate reduces biodiversity.
