The International Center for Integrated Mountain Development, ICIMOD, is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre serving the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalayas – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan – and based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The mission of the center is to enable and facilitate the equitable and sustainable well-being of the people of the Hindu Kush-Himalayas by supporting sustainable mountain development through active regional cooperation. ICIMOD, therefore, aims to assist mountain people to understand global environmental and socio-economic changes, adapt to them, and make the most of new opportunities, while addressing upstream-downstream issues.

This web portal on “Access and Benefit-Sharing from Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge” of the ICIMOD is part of its programme to facilitate the development and implementation of the ABS related provisions of the CBD in the Eastern Himalayas.

Team for Nature and Wildlife (TNW) is a youth led environmental organization working for the creation of an eco-friendly and sustainable community by educating, inspiring and empowering the community especially youth. Since its inception in 2007, TNW has been working to generate awareness on a wide range of critical environmental issues amongst children and urban and rural community people through highly creative, interactive and “infotainment”-based media such as theatre shows, talk shows, eco-competitions, green discussion, and a youth environmental summit. TNW has also been working in the green development of the rural communities.
