Children in the area surrounding Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park were invited to take part in an excursion to the natural habitat of their region. The children were encouraged to discover the local plant and animal species found in their area.
Another event that took place to mark the day was a panel discussion. Biologists and scientists were taken on a guided tour of the Phong Nha caves where the rich biodiversity was highlighted. Panelists from a variety of backgrounds came together to discuss the importance of protecting the area and ways of accomplishing this mandate.
