National Celebrations

The Ministry of Housing, Land Planning and Environment launched an itinerant exposition with lots of posters about the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity that is showing in different parts of the country together with conferences on Biodiversity topics.

The Chamber of Senators of Uruguay made a Declaration in support to the International Year of Biodiversity (in Spanish).

  Montes del Plata releases coatis raised at a native fauna conservation station into their natural habitat
Specimens were released into the wild at Estación Santo Domingo in Paysandú on 30 September. This is the second time this initiative has been carried out. It is part of the forestry company’s commitment to maintaining biodiversity.
