Posolstvá Ľudia sú súčasťou veľkej rozmanitosti prírody a majú silu ju buď chrániť, alebo ničiť.
Biodiverzita, rozmanitosť života na Zemi, je nevyhnutná na udržanie sietí a systémov života, ktoré nám poskytujú všetko spojené so zdravím, blahobytom, potravou, palivami a životne dôležitými službami, od ktorých náš život závisí.
Ľudská činnosť spôsobuje, že rozmanitosť života na Zemi sa stráca veľmi rýchlym tempom. Straty sú nevratné, všetkých nás ochudobňujú a poškodzujú život podporujúce systémy, na ktoré sa spoliehame každý deň. Ale môžeme im zabrániť.
Rok 2010 je Medzinárodným rokom biodiverzity. Porozmýšľajte nad úspechmi, ktoré sme dosiahli, aby sme ochránili biodiverzitu a zamerajte sa na naliehavosť výziev, ktoré pred nami v budúcnosti stoja. Nastal čas na činy.

Spojené národy vyhlásili rok 2010 za Medzinárodný rok biodiverzity. Tento rok je oslavou života na Zemi a významu biologickej rôznorodosti pre naše životy. Svet je vyzvaný, aby podnikol také kroky v roku 2010, ktoré zachovajú rozmanitosť života na Zemi – biodiverzitu.

The
State Nature Conservancy of the Slovak Republic prepared the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity logo in Slovak language and translation of the official messages, as well as a poster, which is being distributed to schools and various institutions: http://www.sopsr.sk/index.php?page=aktuality
The State Nature Conservancy of the Slovak Republic is a professional organization of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic with a sphere of activities in the whole area of Slovakia. It ensures nature and landscape protection in the following spheres: territorial protection, species protection (fauna and flora), minerals and fossils, forests, environmental education and monitoring.
Its main objectives are:
- to provide an expert work on the level of the state authority in accordance with the national legislation in the field of nature and landscape protection
- to provide the general and specialized territorial and habitat protection, fauna and flora species protection, minerals and fossils conservation
- to carry out and coordinate research and monitoring programmes on the state of habitat and species diversity and stability of ecosystems and creation of databases
- to elaborate the legal regulations, proposals of conceptual and strategic documents, expert opinions and methodologies
