Russian Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Golden Turtle – unique for Russia the cultural ecology-educational project showing by means of art of a photo beauty and, unfortunately, fragility of the world surrounding us and its inhabitants.
Russian Union of Nature Photographers is the first organisation in Russia engaged in helping photographers and organising various public actions devoted to nature photography.

10 October 2009 - 28 February 2010, the
Biodiversity Conservation Center carried out the competition of children's drawings "
You need too see to know and be in love to protect" in memory of animal painter V. Smirin. Over 600 children's paintings of Russian pinnipeds were received.
24 February 2010, Moscow, the
Biodiversity Conservation Center carried out the conference "TEEB project. Prospects of participation for Russia and other NIS countries", which was devoted to IYB. Over 50 experts on ecosystem services from Russia and other NIS countries were gathered to discuss ways to involve these countries into international activities concerning economic assessment of ecosystem services.
11 March,
Russian Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition will be the big Opening Final Exhibition of the 2009 contest, with media presence. The exhibition will be in Moscow until 28 March, expecting 150 000 visitors. The exhibition will then go on tour in different parts of Russia.

11-13 March, the
Russian Union of Nature Photographers offered Russia's first Festival of Nature Photography. More activities are being planned as the year unfolds.
22-25 April 2010,
Biodiversity Conservation Center’s annual All-Russian public campaign "
March for Parks" was devoted this year to the International Year of Biodiversity and conducted under the slogan "
Biodiversity is the basis of Life on Earth".
15 May 2010, Moscow, the
Biodiversity Conservation Center carried out the open-air "
Green Concert" devoted to acute ecological problems of Russia. Youth music groups participated in the concert, work-shops and info-tables were conducted.
