International Day for Biodiversity At the
Parque Nacional Volcan Masaya, there was a day long celebration. Individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ranging from students to biologists to environmental enthusiasts arrived at the park early in the morning. All participants were divided into groups in accordance with their interests. The participants went on different excursions depending on the focus of their group, bird, mammal, vegetation or reptiles. At the end of the day the groups met to discuss their experiences. As the grand finale, Nicarauga’s Katia Cardinal and her daughter Alfonsina put on an environmentally themed concert for all the participants.
